850 Expansion Board Experiments
These experiments can be performed with the 850 Expansion Board (UI-5220) attached to an 850 Universal Interface (UI-5000). The electrical components used are from the Components of the AC/DC Electronics Lab (EM-8668).
Grade Level: College • High School
Subject: Physics
Activities
01) Ohm's Law Using 850 Expansion Board
The purpose of this experiment is to investigate the relationship between current and voltage in Ohmic and non-Ohmic materials.
02) Series and Parallel Resistors Using 850 Expansion Board
The purpose of this lab is to explore how resistors add in series and in parallel.
03) RC Circuit Using 850 Expansion Board
The purpose of this experiment is to investigate how the voltage across a capacitor varies as it charges, and to find the capacitive time constant.
04) Kirchhoff's Rules for 850 Expansion Board
The purpose of this lab will be to experimentally demonstrate Kirchhoff’s Junction and Loop Rules for electrical circuits. Kirchhoff’s Junction Rule: The sum of the currents flowing into junction (node) are equal to the sum of the currents flowing out of the junction. Kirchhoff’s Loop Rule: The algebraic sum of the voltages around any closed loop is zero.
