Disposal of Ozone Sensing Element for Wireless Air Quality Sensor

How to dispose of the sensing element within the Wireless Air Quality Sensor

Sensor Element Disposal

At the end of their working life, the O3 sensor elements must be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner, in compliance with relevant local waste disposal and environmental legislation. The sensors may contain trace quantities of a toxic compound (precious metals and their oxides), but best practice recommends that they should not be disposed of in normal waste. Sensors can also be returned to Interlink Electronics (see address below) where they will be disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Returned sensors must be securely packaged and clearly marked for “Environmental Disposal”. Note: Sensors must not be burned due to the potential risk of evolution of toxic fumes, especially from PTFE.
